ZooZoo Wallpapers | Zoo Zoo Wallpapers | Vodafone Zoo zoo Wallpapers How Zoozoo characters are made? No, they aren’t animated characters. They are human beings who were made to wear body suits. “The design of the characters is such that one gets fooled into thinking it is animation,” shrugs Rao, which was indeed the very illusion that had to be created. “In a sense, it is ‘live’ animation!” he quips, referring to the fact that it was all shot live.
Prakash Varma, ad filmmaker, Nirvana Films, has directed the commercials, and reveals that the Zoozoos were a big challenge to create. The practical aspects of how they will move, talk, gesticulate and emote were very important. Essentially, costume design and artwork were crucial elements.
“It took me three weeks of pre-production to understand how it will work,” says Varma. There were two fabrics that were considered for the body suits, and one was rejected for it had too many wrinkles and was shiny. The wrinkles would have shown when the characters moved, thereby shattering the illusion of animation. “So we chose the more practical, thicker fabric,” Varma explains.
The production team divided the outfit into two parts: the body and the head. The body part of the outfit was stuffed with foam in some places, while the head was attached separately. To make it look bigger than a human head, a harder material called Perspex was used, which in turn was stuffed with foam (with scope for ventilation).
If one wishes to understand the size of this head, here’s a fact: a human head would typically reach up to the mouth level of this giant Zoozoo head. “We kept the hands and legs thin, which is why we cast women – and occasionally children – wearing the costumes,” says Varma. The thin limbs, contrasted with big bellies and a bulbous head, all add to the illusion that these creatures are ‘smaller’ than humans. Sets were created to suit the size of the Zoozoos. Concept Note: Zoozoos are not animated characters. They are human beings who were made to wear body suits. The films were shot by Nirvana in Cape Town, South Africa. check out Most viewed Zoozoos TV ads at from original production unit.
2009 swine flu outbreak: Health agencies giving full attention to swine flu U.S. health agencies are giving full attention to the swine flu epidemic.
The flu has spread to at least 11 states from California to Maine and the number of confirmed cases is hovering around 100.
The only known fatality from it in the U.S. was a 23-month-old boy from Mexico. He developed symptoms soon after he and his family arrived in Texas April 4th and died Monday night at a hospital in Houston.
President Barack Obama calls the outbreak "cause for deep concern, but not panic." He says the government is prepared "to do whatever it takes" to control the outbreak. At his news conference tonight, Obama said health officials are not recommending that the U.S.-Mexico border be closed.
The government is also dipping into federal stockpiles of anti-flu drugs, shipping enough doses to treat 11 million people.
As a precaution, the state of Texas has suspended all public high school competitions until May 11th. That includes academic as well as sporting events.
First U.S. swine flu death: A toddler in Texas becomes the first confirmed swine flu death outside of Mexico.
In Washington, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano was questioned closely by senators about whether the U.S. should close its border with Mexico.
2009 Swine flu out break
The 2009 swine flu outbreak is an epidemic that began in April 2009 with a new strain of influenza virus. The new strain is commonly called swine flu, but some authorities object to the name and it is also called Mexican flu, swine-origin influenza, North American influenza and 2009 H1N1 flu]. The outbreak is believed to have started in March 2009 and was classified as meeting the criteria for the World Health Organization pandemic Phase 5 status on 29 April. Local outbreaks of an influenza-like illness were first detected in three areas of Mexico, but the virus responsible was not clinically identified as a new strain until April 24, 2009. Following the identification, its presence was soon confirmed in various Mexican states and in Mexico City. Within days, isolated cases (and suspected cases) were identified elsewhere in Mexico, the U.S., and several other Northern Hemisphere countries.
By April 28, the new strain was confirmed to have spread to Spain, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Israel, and the virus was suspected in many other nations, with a total of over 3,000 candidate cases, prompting the World Health Organization (WHO) to change its pandemic alert phase to "Phase 5", which denotes "widespread human infection". Despite the scale of the alert, the WHO stated on April 29 that the majority of people infected with the virus have made a full recovery without need of medical attention or antiviral drugs. A timeline of events in the swine flu outbreak:
_ December 2005 to January 2009: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention receives reports of 12 cases of human infection with swine flu. Five of these 12 cases occurred in patients who had direct exposure to pigs and six reported being near pigs. Exposure in one case is unknown.
_ March 28: Believed to be the date of the earliest onset of the swine flu cases in the U.S., Dr. Nancy Cox of the CDC said in an April 23 press briefing.
_ April 2: A 4-year-old boy contracted the virus before this date in Veracruz state, Mexican Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova later said citing test results. A community in Veracruz has been protesting pollution from a large pig farm.
_ April 6: Local health officials declare a health alert due to a respiratory disease outbreak in the Mexican town of La Gloria in Veracruz state. Health officials record 400 cases of people who sought medical treatment in the previous week in the town. About 60 percent of the town of 3,000 are affected.
_ April 17: CDC determines that two children in adjacent counties in southern California had illnesses caused by infection with swine flu. Both children became sick in late March.
_ April 22: CDC confirms three additional cases of swine flu in California and two in Texas, near San Antonio.
_ April 22: The Oaxaca Health Department indicates that 16 employees at the Hospital Civil Aurelio Valdivieso have contracted respiratory disease.
_ April 24: Mexico's Minister of Health confirms 20 deaths from swine flu, but 40 other fatalities were being probed and at least 943 nationwide were sick from the suspected flu. Mexico City shuts down schools, museums, libraries, and state-run theaters across the capital.
_ April 26: The number of confirmed cases in the U.S. climbs to 20 in five states. Mexico reports suspect clinical cases have been reported in 19 of the country's 32 states. Canada confirms six cases.
_ April 27: The World Health Organization raises its pandemic alert status to Phase 4, meaning there is sustained human-to-human transmission of the virus causing outbreaks in at least one country.
_ April 28: Cuba suspends flights to and from Mexico, becoming the first country to impose a travel ban. Argentina suspends flights from Mexico for five days.
Is Pub Culture really destroying the fabric of Indian Culture ?
Author: Shekar Kapur
Excuse me, but where does this moral culture really exist, except in the fantasies of those that the media are hyping up as India's moral brigade. In the small towns and villages of India ??? Where 10 times more women are raped and molested, abused, physically assaulted and mutilated for the mere crime of being a woman or a low caste ! There is no pub culture there. But there is a huge problem of alcoholism nevertheless.
Where young men are killed and hanged and young women are killed by their own families just because they fell in love and wanted to marry out of their caste. There is no pub culture there.
Alcoholism is a problem. No doubt. But there is more alcohol relateddomestic abuse against women in India by their husbands in their ownhomes than anywhere else. If any of the supporters of the moral policing would just care to g to one of the shelters for domestically abused women, they will know that the real problem with alcohol is not in the pub culture but at home.
And if India is progressing towards a country where men and women stand equal in jobs, status and financial independence, where we have had women as our Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers, and Cabinet
Ministers, then why should men and women be treated as any different ? If drinking alcohol in a pub is immoral for a woman, they why is it morally OK for a man ?
I have seen too many families destroyed by alcoholism to be able to make a stand for excessive drinking. So what should one do ? Ban alcohol ? Lets get real. the very people who form the moral brigade will probably not go for that. Corrupt pockets are fed with that. State coffers rely on taxes on alcohol. And banning alcohol merely drives it underground, and gives the underworld goons a god sent opportunity to make money. Tourism collapses.
There must be checks and balances. But the answer is NOT to target the physically weaker sections of our people. Women. That is not moral policing. It is sheer cowardice.
And I cannot understand why the Chief Minister of Rajasthan has a problem with a girl and a boy holding hands ? He does not seem to have such a problem when the same hand raises itself in violence rather than affection.

International drug rackets operating from Andhra Pradesh
The investigation into international drug rackets operating from Andhra Pradesh is heading nowhere because of lack of coordination between various agencies. Police and agencies such as Directorate of Revenue Intelligence have only been able to arrest couriers so far. In at least three drug busts by the DRI there has been headway after the initial arrests. Though the drug rackets and handlers of the couriers are based in Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad none of them have been arrested so far.
In January, a Nigerian identified as Benjamin was caught after he booked drug consignments in the guise of books from Tirupati, Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam to South Africa, China, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain and France.
The drugs seized were worth Rs 2.04 crore. However, his handlers in Delhi and other gang members in the state have not been arrested yet.
“No doubt the DRI has done a wonderful job in nabbing the mules but there is need for a stronger crackdown on Mafia networks,” said a senior police officer. “There is no sharing of information or coordination with the local police.” He added that the Task Force of the city police and the narcotics department in CID can help the DRI in cracking the network. Drug racketeers are choosing cities such as Hyderabad and towns like Tirupati for their operations so as to avoid the police dragnet.
In another case, a Thai woman identified as Korn Wipha Pinkeo was caught at Hyderabad airport while trying to smuggle out 2.2 kg of heroin in April 2008. She was a sex worker and was employed by a suspected Nigerian national.
“We are not given any inputs by other agencies to carry forward the probe,” said the Task Force deputy commissioner of police, Mr V.B. Kamalasan Reddy. “Our teams are now planning to bust rackets suspected to be behind city rave parties.” Last year, the Task Force arrested racketeers involved in smuggling of 9 kg of opium.
India is putting systems in place to check the entry of swine flu into the country. A round the clock medical surveillance began at the Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad international airports on Tuesday night. Medical teams are at the immigration counters. Those found to be ill will be immediately quarantined.
In hyderabad International Rajiv Gandhi airport shamshabad all the precautions taken while passengers reaching. The special check will be for UK, Mexican, NewZealand and from china(time OF India news paper).
Do take care of yourself as the toll is increasing in Mexico, NZ. Take care while you visit hotels and airports.
The World Health Organization says the new type of swine flu that has broken out in Mexico and has killed more than 100 people till now has the potential to become a pandemic.
What it is? Swine flu is a highly contagious acute respiratory disease of pigs, caused by one of several swine influenza A viruses.
The virus The WHO has confirmed that some of the cases in the current outbreak are a never-before-seen strain of influenza A virus, carrying the designation H1N1. The strain is a mixture of viruses from swine, birds and humans.
Symptoms Symptoms of swine flu in humans are similar to those of seasonal influenza, so it is difficult to detect and mild cases may escape recognition. The symptoms include sudden fever, coughing, muscle aches and extreme fatigue. The new strain also causes more diarrhoea and vomiting than normal flu.
Vaccines Vaccines are available for pigs to prevent swine influenza. But as of now, there is no vaccine to protect humans from swine flu, although the CDC is formulating one. The seasonal influenza vaccine may help provide partial protection against swine H3N2, but not swine H1N1 viruses, like the one spreading currently.
How the flu spreads to humans? The swine influenza A virus has many strains, the newest being the H1N1 type. The respiratory virus attacks pigs and causes influenza in them. A human may contract the flu on coming in direct contact with an infected pig. It spreads like normal flu, when viral particles expelled in coughs and sneezes are breathed in.
WHO PANDEMIC ALERT PHASES
Phase 1: No viruses circulating among animals causing infections in humans
Phase 2: Animal influenza virus causes infection in humans, and is considered potential pandemic threat
Phase 3: Influenza causes sporadic cases in people, but no significant human-to-human transmission
Phase 4: Verified human-to-human transmission able to cause community-level outbreaks. Significant increase in risk of a pandemic
Phase 5: Human-to-human transmission in at least two countries. Strong signal pandemic imminent
Phase 6: Virus spreads to another country in a different region. Global pandemic under way
At least seven people were killed and 20 injured when a local passenger train collided with a goods train in Chennai's northern Vyasarpadi suburb on Wednesday, an official said.'The accident occurred a little before 6 am. The identities of the motormen who operated the two trains are being sought,' a Southern Railway spokesman said. In a bizarre rail accident, an "unauthorised man" ran an electric train for about seven kms unnoticed before ramming it into a goods train, leaving four persons dead and 11 others injured near Vyasarpadi Jeeva station in city's northwestern suburbs. As the Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) parked in the Moore Market complex was about to be moved by the unauthorised man, some passengers boarded the train believing it was a regular service, Railway sources said.
All local and long distance trains coming from Arakkonam (over 30 kmnorth of Chennai) towards Chennai Central have been stopped enroute, the railway official said. All the injured were rushed to the General Hospital in Chennai while police are trying to identify the dead, including the motormen of the two trains who were believed to be among the dead.
Railway authorities have suspended all local and long distance trains going to Chennai Central from the northern suburb town of Arakkonam, where the mishapped passenger train departed, on a route which is one of the busiest urban rail lines in India. "Train services are disrupted due to the mishap but we hope to restore the services in two to three hours time," an Indian Railway spokesperson told the media.

A few years back if you happened to enquire from some talented students about the career/profession they plan to pursue after their schooling (10+2), the reply of most of them was on the expected lines. Their foremost preferences were Engineering or Medicine. Some of them, however, would show their inclination towards Management after graduation. Few would ever think about pursuing a programme in law. In those days the study of law was an option for those who were not interested in serious studies or for those who just wanted to pass some years of their life or for those who wanted to join their parents already established in the field of law. Since there was no restriction of age for joining the law course, even persons in the age group of 50 years plus could be seen studying law. Law was a least attractive career amongst the talented students at that time. But in the changed economic and social scenario, a good number of talented students are clear in their minds to join law after their schooling (10+2) or graduation. With the advent of multinational companies in India, and the country embracing a free market economy and corporate culture, the talented students are attracted towards the study of law.
Besides, being financially lucrative and respectable option, law is also an adventurous and thrilling profession. A degree in law not only provides decent opportunities for livelihood but it is also a tool to fight against injustice in the society. In past, a law graduate had the option either to join judiciary or become a practicing lawyer but options open to him today are wide and varied. The prestige attached to the profession is an added attraction.
Earlier the image of a lawyer was that of a man in black robes arguing the case of his clients before the courts. Today a lawyer has become an indispensable part of the modern life. He plays a decisive role in every sphere of society. He tenders legal advice to his clients in their individual needs and helps in resolving their disputes with opposites-parties. He understands laws and ensures that the people live within four corners of law. He pleads for legal rights of his clients before the courts.
A lawyer must possess excellent drafting, presentation and communication skills. He must have good intellectual ability, should be hardworking, self-confidence and should possess physical and mental stamina. He must have quick grasping power. He must be a man of impeccable integrity because he holds secret briefs of his clients.
PROSPECTS FOR LAW GRADUATES
There are many career opportunities available to law graduates in India. Some of fields open to them are as follows :
However, the students completing the above programmes and interested in higher degrees can join the following programmes:
LL.D (Doctor of Laws)
Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy)
M.Phil (Master of Philosophy)
In the law schools besides the above-mentioned programmes, some short-term specialized law programmes are also offered to students to familiarize themselves with the new developments taking place in the field of law. Some of the specialized law programmes are :
1. Diploma in Patents Law
2. Diploma in Media Law
3. Diploma in Cyber Laws
4. Diploma in Human Rights Laws
5. Diploma in Environmental Laws
6. Diploma in Medical Laws and Ethics

Legal education in India has never been as good as it is today. For a very long time three-year LL.B course was in vogue in Indian universities. A bold and creative decision was taken on the part of the Bar Council of India by allowing an integrated five-year programme in the year 1987 when National Law School of India University was established in Bangalore by the NLSUI Act 1986 of the Karnatka legislature. The other universities continued to pursue the pattern of three year LL.B course. The outstanding success of the National Law School experiment invited attention from policy planners. The All India Law Ministers Conference at Bhubaneswar in 1992 endorsed a proposal of a Committee of Parliament for setting up model law schools on the type of Bangalore law school in every State. Thereafter, States of different legislatures enacted Acts to establish national law schools in their respective States - the State of Madhya Pradesh in Bhopal (1997), the State of Andhra Pradesh in Hyderabad (1998), the State of Rajasthan in Jodhpur (1999), the State of West Bengal in Kolkata (1999), the State of Chattisgarh in Raipur (2003), the State of Gujarat in Gandhi Nagar (2003), the State of Kerala in Kochi (2005), the State of Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow (2005), the State of Punjab in Patiala (2006), the State of Bihar in Patna (2006) and the National Capital of Delhi in Delhi (2008). A number of universities and their constituent colleges followed suit by starting five year integrated LL.B. courses in addition to the existing three-year LL.B. courses.
Prior to 2008, all the national law schools were conducting their own entrance tests for admission but from the year 2008, admissions to all the national law schools are being made strictly on the basis of merit of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The maiden CLAT was conducted by the NLSUI on 11th May, 2008 since it was decided earlier by all the schools to conduct the test in rotation on the basis of seniority- senior most law school starting first. This year CLAT 2009 is being conducted by NALSAR University of Law. The eligibility for undergraduate five year integrated programmes is 10+2 with 50% marks and eligibility for two year LL.M. programme is LL.B. with 55% marks. The age limit for undergraduate five year integrated programme is 20 years as on 1st July, 2009. All the national law schools are fully residential. Prestige of gaining admission in national law schools is comparable to IITs, IIMs and CPMTs. The following eleven national law schools (National Law School of Delhi has kept itself out) will be part of the CLAT.
1. NATIONAL LAW SCHOOL OF INDIA UNIVERSITY, BANGALORE, Nagarbhavi, Bangalore-560242
2. NALSAR UNIVERSITY OF LAW, HYDERABAD 3-4-7 761, Barkatpura, Hyderabad - 500027

11. NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ADVANCED LEGAL STUDIES, Kaloor, Kochi - 682017.
PATTERN OF TEST PAPERS
The pattern of the test paper for the undergraduate programme will be as follows;
1. English including comprehen-sion - 40 marks
2. General Knowledge/Current Affairs - 50 marks
3. Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) - 20 marks
4. Legal Aptitude - 45 marks
5. Logical Reasoning - 45 marks
Almost all the National law schools are running five-year integrated undergraduate programme B.A., LL.B (Hons) and two year post graduate course (LL.M). After completing their under graduate or post graduate programme, the students can pursue courses in specialized fields of their choice.
LAW EDUCATION OTHER THAN UNDER CLAT
Besides the above-mentioned law schools covered under the CLA T, there are a number of other reputed law schools/colleges/universities which are running three year LL.B. programmes or/and five year integrated LL.B and two year LL.M programmes. They are conducting their own entrance tests for admission or taking admissions on the basis of scores

DURBAN: With 26 to get off 18 balls, the announcer asked: "Who all are supporting Hyderabad?" There was huge roar around the ground. In another 10 minutes, all those fans were proved right when Herschelle Gibbs took his team to the victory target of 166 with three balls to spare.
It's all going down for Team Chennai on the other hand. Three defeats and a washout in five games; Mahendra Singh Dhoni could never have imagined things could get this tight for his 'dream team'.
Hapless Super Kings has no answer to Gibbs and Gilchrist’s assault
Dhoni's allrounders have forgotten how to bowl yorkers, and each one they tried turned out to be full-tosses which got dispatched to the stands by Gibbs (69 n.o. off 56 balls). But the real charge was started by skipper Adam Gilchrist (44 off 19 balls).
The pitch didn't have any lateral movement, and for Gilchrist, it was just a matter of standing tall and hitting over the top. An opening partnership of 67 in 5.4 overs had all but set it up for Hyderabad, and the rest was just a matter of keeping their heads and playing according to a plan.

Dedicated university for the humanities- The Ambedkar University, Delhi (AUD)
Humanities students have something to smile about — come August 2009 and Delhi will be home to India’s first dedicated university for the humanities. The Ambedkar University, Delhi (AUD), will be Delhi’s second state varsity and the country’s first institution solely devoted to social sciences and humanities.
And while AUD already started its academic intake by offering a postgraduate diploma in development studies last year, three more postgraduate programmes are on the anvil from this year. The courses — an MA in development studies, psychology, and environment and development — will be followed by undergraduate and law programmes in 2010.
With a total of 10 schools and five centres, the university envisages a teacher-student ratio of 1:15. AUD is also planning to recruit faculty on the lines of Jawaharlal Nehru University which means that staff will have the option of moving elsewhere after four years and be able to rejoin the university later.
Functioning out of Dwarka at present, the varsity plans to shift to its new campus by 2011. Said Shyam Menon Vice Chancellor AUD, “We are going to be an innovative public university. At present innovation is practiced only in private universities. We want to demonstrate a hybrid model of public and private initiative and respond to evolving societal demands.”
With plans to showcase 15 interdisciplinary schools and centres, a community of 4,000 students, of which 1,200 will have hostel accommodation and a core of around 1,000 students who will pursue post graduation and research, AUD will have around 200 teachers and 50 professional staff at the heart of its operations.
The varsity is also proposing a differential fee structure, so that no eligible student is denied a seat because of his/her inability to pay. This will be based on the per-capita operational cost of the programme, economic and social background of the student and expected level of employment after graduation. “So, while our education will not be subsidised, it won't be as low as DU or as high as the private universities,” said Menon.
The Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Delhi, (Ambedkar University, Delhi or AUD for short) was established through an Act of the Delhi Legislature in 2007 and was notified in July 2008. The University began functioning in August 2008.

Today a Hindu Festival Akshaya Trithiya being celebrated all over India.
Akshaya Trithiya, or Akha Teej, is a highly auspicious day which falls on the third day after Amavasi (no moon) in the Hindu month of Vaishakha. As per Hindu astrology and almanac, each second on the Akshaya Trithiya day is auspicious. It is said that there is no need to look for a ‘muhurat’ on the day. The word Akshaya means ‘that which never diminishes’ and the day is ideal for beginning new ventures as it is believed that all investments on this day appreciates. In 2009, the date of Akshaya Trithiya is April 27.
Akshay Tritiyafalls on the third Tithi (Lunar day) of Bright Half (Shukla Paksha) of Lunar month of Vaishakha, per Vedic calendar. It is believed that this was the Tithi prevailing at the start of Treta Yuga. This Tithi is ruled by lord Vishnu. It coincides with Parshuram Jyanti.
As per Hinduelectional astrology (Muhurta) three Lunar days (Tithis) are held as most auspicious. These are called Sade-Teen Muhurtas also. These Tithis are : 1st Tithi of Bright Half of Chaitra (starting of new year), 10th Tithi of Bright Half of Ashvina (Vijay Dashmi), 3rd Tithi of Bright Half of Vaishakha (Akshay Tritiya- Parshu Jyanti) & 1st Tithi of Bright Half of Karttika are called “Sade-Teen (3 ½) Muhurt”. The first three Tithis are counted as full & the last one as half Tithi, and constitute Sade - Teen Muhurt.
The day is generally observed by fasting and worship Lord Vasudeva with rice grains. A dip in the Ganges on this day is considered to be very auspicious. Akshay Tritiiya is a holy day in Jain Calendar as well. People who observe the year-long alternative day fasting finish their Tapsaya this day.
